Built off of "the amps that started it all", the Wilder Classic Classic is "the next best thing to modeling amplifiers!" We like to call it our "True Modeling Technology". Not only do they SOUND and PLAY like the real deal, they're BUILT like the real deal, and most importantly, they're 100% ALL VALVE AMPLIFIERS JUST LIKE THE REAL DEAL!!! Can so-called "modeling amps" make THAT claim? Listen to the tones of Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Pete Townsend, early Eddie Van Halen...just to name a few. Were they using "modeling amps" to get their tones? HELL NO! They were using 100% ALL VALVE Marshall Super Leads...which were far from being the "latest and greatest technology" at the time they were built! On top of that, they were having to run them flat out cranked to get that sound. Their amps got that sound NATURALLY...it's a characteristic trait of the way valves operate when driven to the max that makes them NATURALLY sound the way they do...no "modeling" required! To get their tones, wouldn't it make sense to use EXACTLY what THEY used to get them? Of course nowadays, those amps are highly sought after, worth LOTS of dough, and are well out of the financial reach of most musicians. And in today's economy, who can afford to own one? Well, Wilder Amplification has come to the rescue with its Classic Classic model! Built just like the originals, the Wilder Classic Classic was meant to be ran flat out cranked on a power soak...and live to do it night after night! We've done the testing! Three years of playing every weekend flat out cranked through a power soak for a 4 hour gig...transformers so hot you couldn't touch them for a good half hour...and the only thing that ever needed replacing periodically (4-6 months) was the valves themselves! These amps are so reliable, they feature our exclusive 5 year warranty on everything BUT the valves! Not that you'll ever need it... For those of you who aren't able to obtain a power soak, we can also install our special rhythm/lead master volume mod that will give you a sound that is VERY close to what the amp would sound like on a power soak, as well as give you a seperate control for your rhythm/lead volumes and make them footswitchable! For the heaviest of heavy metal guys...if you get your overdrive tones from external pedals/effects, these amps are hands down VERY pedal friendly amps as well! Put to the test with a valve overdrive pedal and a suitable EQ pedal, it was very easy to get that super tight bone crunching overdrive that is highly sought after in the world of heavy metal. I personally recommend having us fit it with 6550 output tubes for the ultimate of tight & bone crunching tone.
